Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. Each week, there is a new topic for which we write 10 things about. You can find more information, including the weekly topics, here. Today’s TTT topics is places in books I’d love to live.
Places In Books I’d Love to Live
Velaris – The City of Starlight – ACOTAR by SJM I have always loved the night sky and the stars so I think it would be pretty amazing to live in the city of starlight.
Ketterdam – Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo Yeah, it would be a pretty dangerous place but it would also be cool to live there. There are so many different cultures there! Plus. Kaz is there and he is my baby.)
Ellingham Academy – Truly, Devious by Maureen Johnson While there are a lot of crimes that happen at the academy, it would be pretty cool to live in a grand place such as the academy. Plus, there are all sorts of cool passages and tunnels to explore, which would be fun (unless you can’t find a way out 😂 thennnn it is not so fun)
Italy – The Hourglass Door I have always wanted to go to Italy! THD has part of the book set in 15th century (I think) Italy and, after reading the book, I thought that it would be pretty neat to be an apothecary store owner during that time! Medicine through the ages has always fascinated me.
The Beast’s Castle – Beauty and the Beast For the library. 😂 (I honestly have no idea if the original book involves a library 😂)
That is really all I can think of off the top of my head! What are some places in books that you’d like to live? Let me know in the comments below. Be sure to link your TTT so I don’t miss it!
Good afternoon and happy Monday, lovely bookworms!📚🐛
Monday Music Match Up is a weekly feature here at HerBookishDesires where I showcase the music that I have matched, or listened to, while reading a specific book or series.
The series that I will be highlighting today is the Mara Dyer series. While reading the first three books (I have yet to read the more recent installments), I listened to “Vertigo” by Jesse Cook.
I absolutely love the covers of these books. I just think that they are so intriguing and beautiful! 😍
I really thought that this song fit the “mysterious” vibes of the novels with Mara’s weird ability to make bad things happen to (bad) people. I also think that the title is quite fitting as throughout the novels Mara sort of experiences her own version of vertigo, a personal vertigo of sorts.
I hope you enjoy the music! I have provided some fan art for you to enjoy as you listen to the music. 😌
I hope you enjoyed today’s post! Have you read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer? What did you think of the art/fan art? Let me know in the comments below!
Happy Sunday, all!🥰 How is your weekend going? What is new? Everything has really been the same for me. I have mostly just been busy with work! My gramma had her first chemotherapy a couple of days ago. It went well and she seems to be doing fine for right now. They said if she gets sick, it won’t be for a few days after the chemo so we will see what happens. When I was talking to my mom, she mentioned that my gramma has a cancer advocate, which I think is pretty cool! Basically, she got matched with someone who is/was in a similar situation and they talk to each other for support! It is so great that there are so many resources for cancer patients.
In other news, the weather has been up and down (classic OH). It has been mostly cloudy with rain, but every so often we will get a day with a bit of sun and heat. ☀️ Yesterday is was in the mid to high 70s F. The temperature today is supposed to be on the cooler side compared to yesterday, for which I am grateful because my car does not have any AC and the drive to work had me like 🥵.

I would say I am ready for the weekend, buttttt I work (both Sat/Sun) this weekend so it really won’t be a “weekend” in the true sense of the word 😂 What plans do you have this weekend? Hopefully it will be more relaxing than mine. 😂
Flashback Friday is a weekly meme hosted here at HerBookishDesires that highlights oldie but goodie novels. It is my hope that through this meme, we will discover – and rediscover – oldie but goodie novels together. Each week, there is a new topic which you can find here. The topic for this week is historical fiction novels. I have included historical fiction novels that I have read and those that I would like to read!
Historical fiction novels
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly First Published October 2010
I have read this book multiple times! I am due for a re-read 😂 I have loved this story every time I have read it. I believe this is one of the first historical fiction novels that I read.
A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly First published April 2003
Since I really enjoyed Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly, I have had A Northern Light on my radar for some time now. I really need to get to reading it!
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon First Published in 1991
I have watched the TV show and I thought that the show was pretty great so I have been wanting to read the book. I did start reading it last year but because the TV show was so similar, I sort of lost interest since I basically knew what to expect/where the story was heading. I decided to give it some time before picking the book series back up!
What are some of your favorite historical fiction books? What are some historical fiction novels that you want to read? Let me know in the comments below!
I hope you have a nice weekend! I apologize for posting later in the day today. I didn’t get the chance to draft up my post yesterday. Thankfully, I got a bit of a break at work so I could post it before it gets any later 😂
I hope you are all doing well and having a nice week so far. After the weekend, the weather went back to being cloudy.☁️ 😭 The temperature has mostly stayed on the warmish side, though, so at least there is that!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @TakingOnAWorldofWords where we answer three questions all of which being with the letter W: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?

Recently Finished📚 Half-Blood by Jennifer Armentrout
Reading next📋 (not sure which one I will be starting with quite yet) Brave by Jennifer Armentrout Storm and Siege by Leigh Bardugo Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead Pure by Jennifer Armentrout (Also been thinking of re-reading From Blood and Ash since The Crown of Gilded Bones will be coming out in April….)

Good morning/almost afternoon, everyone!👋🏼 Happy TTT!!😌
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. Each week, there is a new topic for which we post 10 items in list format. This week’s topic is: Funny Book Titles. I did a combination of book titles that are funny (will make you laugh) and then book titles are funny in the sense of being strange, odd, weird or different as far as titles go (but in a good way, not in a bad way or anything!!).
Funny/Strange Book Titles
This one always makes me laugh! 🦕
I realize the title James and the Giant Peach may not make you laugh out loud, but I think it is a “funny” title in the sense of it being “odd.” Like, a giant peach? Weird (but cool)! When I was younger, I absolutely loved James and the Giant Peach. 🍑
I have this one on my TBR. The title and the cover totally give off “Stranger Things” vibes. The book sounds really interesting!🧠
Soooo that is really all I could come up with today 😂 This was a hard topic and I struggled a little bit, but as always, I had fun with the post. 🥰
What are some other books with funny titles? Let me know in the comments below. Be sure to include your TTT link so I don’t miss your TTT masterpiece! 🥰
Happy Monday, everyone! I realize I am posting a bit later than usual. 😂 I sort of thought that I posted this earlier today and then I realized that I didn’t. 😂 Must have gotten sidetracked!
Today’s post is Monday Music Match Up, a weekly feature here at HerBookishDesires where I showcase the music that I have matched, or listened to, while reading a specific book or series.
The book series that I will be highlighting is The Bargainer series by Laura Thalassa.
Genre: NA, Fantasy Author: Laura Thalassa
I absolutely adore these covers! I love the dark feel they have to them. I also love the titles of the books! While reading the series, I listened to “Endeavour” by Phantom Power.
This song is a bit slower overall compared to the others that I used, but I really liked the way this song had a sense of foreboding to it, much like the “feel” of the novel with the different faeries going missing and the mysterious entity that was after Callie.
Unfortunately, there really is not too much fan art for this series! I really wish there were more works of art. I think it is because the series tends to be more on the underrated side of things. At least, I think the series is underrated! I have included what I could find below, but since there really is not all that much, I have also included the synopsis for the first book, Rhapsodic, below as well. I hope you enjoy. Feel free to listen to the music as you read and enjoy the fan art!
Synopsis: (from Goodreads)
“Callypso Lillis is a siren with a very big problem, one that stretches up her arm and far into her past. For the last seven years she’s been collecting a bracelet of black beads up her wrist, magical IOUs for favors she’s received. Only death or repayment will fulfill the obligations. Only then will the beads disappear.
Everyone knows that if you need a favor, you go to the Bargainer to make it happen. He’s a man who can get you anything you want… at a price. And everyone knows that sooner or later he always collects.
But for one of his clients, he’s never asked for repayment. Not until now. When Callie finds the fae king of the night in her room, a grin on his lips and a twinkle in his eye, she knows things are about to change. At first it’s just a chaste kiss—a single bead’s worth—and a promise for more.
For the Bargainer, it’s more than just a matter of rekindling an old romance. Something is happening in the Otherworld. Fae warriors are going missing one by one. Only the women are returned, each in a glass casket, a child clutched to their breast. And then there are the whispers among the slaves, whispers of an evil that’s been awoken.
If the Bargainer has any hope to save his people, he’ll need the help of the siren he spurned long ago. Only, his foe has a taste for exotic creatures, and Callie just happens to be one.”
Aaaannddd that is all I could find 😂 I didn’t want to include any pieces with spoilers so that pretty much narrowed it down to these two gorgeous pieces!
I absolutely loved these books. I binge read them and then had a (massive) book hangover afterwards. 😂 I wish there were more books in the series. I believe (don’t quote me on this) that Laura said she is working on a project set in the same world but the story follows different characters. I would definitely read that!
Have you read The Bargainer series? What did you think of it? If not, do you plan on reading it? Let me know in the comments below!
Good morning, everyone, and happy Sunday!🥰 How is your weekend going so far? How has the weather been? My weekend has flown by! I worked at my second job yesterday and I work there again today. It is a fun job, though so I don’t mind working. The weather here lately has been rainy and cloudy but it has been sunny and warm(ish) this weekend. I don’t mind cloudy days, but long stretches of them can get pretty depressing so I am glad that it was broken up by a sunny weekend!☀️
I have not really been doing much reading because I have just not really felt like reading lately. Between feeling not really motivated in general to read, feeling tired after work, and just other stuff, I have not really had the time or desire to read. I am sad about it because I want to read but I also just don’t feel like it. Once I start reading, I am fine, but it is just getting me there that takes a while. Confusing, I know 😂 But you know what I mean?
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @CaffeinatedReviewer where we recap what went on with the blog over the past week and recount any bloggish news.
Currently reading Half-Blood by JLA (62% through) The Stand (I got to page 203 this week 😂 but hey, progress)
Finished this Week Daimon by JLA Shadow and Bone by Leigh Barudgo
Upcoming Posts Monday Music Match Up: The Bargainer series Top Ten Tuesday: Funny Book Titles WWW Wednesday (if I have an update on my reading progress) Flashback Friday: Old Historical Fiction Novels (Could be books you want to read or have read)
Happy Friday, all!😊 How was your week? Are you ready for the weekend?! What are your weekend plans? I will be working on Saturday and Sunday 😂 I just started a second job working at Abercrombie and Fitch and I am excited to work more this weekend. I know that is totally different than working in a medical setting (at least in some of the obvious ways) but it is cool to be trying something new and working for a brand whose clothes I love. My sister has also been working there and she loves it. This will be our first time working together and it was so weird (but fun) to be working at the same place at the same time. Usually, we get split up into different facilities or specialties so I am really excited to work side by side for the first time ever!
Today’s post is Flashback Friday, a weekly meme hosted here at HerBookishDesires that tries to bring oldie but goodie books back into the spotlight. It is my hope that, through this meme, we will discover–and rediscover– oldie but goodie books together. Anyone can join in on the meme and there is no limit or maximum amount of books you can include in your post. For more details, see the meme info page here.
Today’s topic is “old books with magical/fictional creatures.” I thought that this would be a fun topic since St. Patrick’s Day just passed! As always, I encourage different takes on the topics. I decided to list the magical creatures and the oldie books they are in!
Old Books with Magical/Fictional Creatures: Hobgoblin (Hogsqueal): The Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black and Toni DiTerlizzi
Brownie (named Tink): Wicked by Jennifer Armentrout
Pixie(s): Need by Carrie Lee Jones
Dragons: The Dragon Finger by Carrie Lee Jones
Naga: A Court of Mist and Fury by SJM
What are some magical creatures that you find interesting? What is your favorite magical creature? Let me know in the comments below!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!! ☘️ I hope you are all doing well! This morning, I bought a treat for my sister and me for Saint Patty’s Day…
I thought St. Patty’s Day themed donuts would be a great treat to start off the day and my sister ended up leaving the hospital at 3 am last night so I wanted to surprise her with a fun little treat!😋
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @TakingOnAWorldOfWords. In this meme, we answer three questions all of which begin with the letter W: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?

Recently finished Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo Daimon by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Covenant #0.5)
Reading Next The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden Brave by Jennifer L.
