📖+🎵Monday Music Match Up: The Kiss of Deception💋 ⚔️

Hello my fellow bookworms!
I am feeling a bit tired today from a long weekend of driving and spending time with family, but it is a “good” kind of tired. A “content” type of tired. The weekend was full of family fun and excitement. Some excitement was not so… exciting. 😂 I *almost* lost my favorite and only pair of wedge shoes. So we were getting back pretty late last night (around 10:30 PM) and right as we were getting home, it hit me. I left my wedges in the back seat of the rental car. (I decided to switch out my wedge heels for sandals for the long car ride and forgot them in the car when we returned the car). My family was insistent that we go back and get the shoes so we dropped my gramma off and went back to the airport, the rental car office to get them. I was prepared to accept the loss of my favorite, and only, pair of wedge shoes, but they were successfully retrieved!🎉 How was your weekend? What is your week looking like?

Monday Music Match Up is a weekly meme hosted here at HerBookishDesires that hat shares the music that I have listened to, or matched, with certain books or series. Today, I am highlighting The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E Pearson, which includes The Kiss of Deception, The Heart of Betrayal, and The Beauty of Darkness.

While reading this trilogy, I listened to “Take Flight” by Lindsey Stirling. I felt that the song really captured Lia who has an adventurous, courageous, and strong spirit as well as a kind heart. I hope you enjoy the music! I have also included the synopsis to read while you listen.

Synopsis from Goodreads:
In a society steeped in tradition, Princess Lia’s life follows a preordained course. As First Daughter, she is expected to have the revered gift of sight—but she doesn’t—and she knows her parents are perpetrating a sham when they arrange her marriage to secure an alliance with a neighboring kingdom—to a prince she has never met.
On the morning of her wedding, Lia flees to a distant village. She settles into a new life, hopeful when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deception abounds, and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—even as she finds herself falling in love.

I recently read a great review by Sofi @ABook.AThought. I really enjoyed reading Sofi’s review of TKOD and I enjoy reading all of her other types of posts. Be sure to check her blog out. She is really sweet!💜
