🌞The Sunday Post: 5/1/22

Credit: here

Happy May, everyone! Wow, it is May🌼. Finally. A particularly exciting something might be happening in May (could also be June/July😂) so I am really ready for May! I am also very ready for warmer weather. Thankfully, it has started warming up here. I am ready to read outside in the sunshine!

🌞The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @CaffeinatedReviewer. According to Kimberly, “It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.” See meme rules here.

🥰Weekly Recap
Overall, I had a great week. I have been going through some personal stuff for a while and, this week, something just clicked. Shifted. I felt a spark of hope again and I felt the urge to enjoy every moment of every day. To not look too far ahead and fall into the trap of “once I get through this, then…” or “once I have completed this, then…” To, essentially, not let any dark moment or situation overshadow the joy of life and living. To finally feel that shift was pretty liberating. However, that is not to say it is now all sunshine and daisies. 😂 But I feel better overall.

📚Books I Read This Week:
Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning
Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning

📖Currently Reading:
Faefever by Karen Marie Moning (31% progress)

As you might recall, I set a spring TBR. Yeah, I am definitely not reading what I put on there. 😂 I started out… okay. I think I read maybe one book that was on there. 😂 I am honestly too afraid to check. Besides my general inability to stick to a TBR, I also want to blame Karen Marie Moning, specifically her Fever series, for my non-adherence to my TBR. I am really enjoying the world that she has built and I just feel like I have to keep reading. So, for right now, I am just going to be working my way through all 11 of her Fever books.

🌞The Sunday Post: Easter 2022✝️

Credit: here

Good morning, all! Happy Easter. ✝️ I hope you are all having a beautiful day. The weather has been a bit chilly and it started as sunny, but the clouds have taken over😭. However, I am used to it as the weather is always like this at this point in the year! Do any of you have any fun plans for Easter? My plans are to hang out, read, and study for an upcoming interview. Nothing too fun, I am afraid! I always miss spending Easter with my family. Not only was the company great, but the food was amazinggggg. Because my dad is from India, we would have Indian food and American food at our table – the best of both worlds! What is your favorite dish that you have on Easter?

🌞The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @CaffeinatedReviewer. Per Kimberly, “It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.”

📖Currently Reading
The Traitor Queen by Danielle Jensen
From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout

My progress with reading has been slow just because I have been pretty busy, but I am going to try and finish Traitor Queen either today or tomorrow. Then, I will focus more on FBAA. I am trying to read all the books that have been published so far so I can be fresh on the details for when I read The War of Two Queens, but I am not sure that will happen in time for my buddy read for TWOTQ!

🌞The Sunday Post: 4/10/2022

Credit: here

Happy Sunday, friends. 🌞 I hope your day is off to a sunny, relaxing start. I am currently sitting on the couch with fluffy blankets, a cup of tea in hand, and Chillhop Lofi music playing in the background. I almost forgot that today is Palm Sunday.🌴 I must say, it really does not feel like Easter is just next week!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @CaffeinatedReviewer. Per Kimberly, “It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.”

I would say that this week was a decent week overall. Life has been hectic lately with getting everything in order to start medical school in the summer. I have to set up student loans, find housing, coordinate my current housing, etc. The biggest hurdle has been housing because of limited availability.

Reading wise, I thoroughly enjoyed by buddy read of The Bridge Kingdom with Leslie and Dini. I will be posting my thoughts on the book tomorrow, most likely! Be on the look out for that post if you want to hear my thoughts on the story.

📌Currently Reading
From Blood and Ash by JLA (re-read in preparation for The War of Two Queens)
The Traitor Queen by Danielle Jensen – buddy read with Leslie @BooksAreTheNewBlack
(currently pausing on Ender’s Game)

I have somewhat deviated from my TBR as I started The Traitor Queen… It is alllll Leslie’s fault 😂 She convinced my to veer off the path of my TBR. (fellow TBR strays unite) 😂 Totally kidding. We both wanted to read the next book right after we finished TBK!

Book Haul
The Obsession by Jesse Sutano
Synopsis: Nobody knows Delilah like Logan does. Nobody. He makes sure of it by learning everything he can through her social media and watching her through a hidden camera he has trained on her house. Some might call him a stalker. Logan prefers to be called “romantic.”
But after Logan sees Delilah killing her abusive stepfather, he realizes there’s still more about her to discover. His sweet, perfect Delilah isn’t so perfect after all.
Delilah knows she should feel guilty, but all she feels is free. She’s so over the men in her life controlling her. Except Logan saw what she did, and he won’t let her forget it.
Delilah is done being the victim. And she refuses to be a character in Logan’s twisted fantasy. If Logan won’t let her go… she’ll make him.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
Synopsis: The case is closed. Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by Sal Singh. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it.
But having grown up in the same small town that was consumed by the murder, Pippa Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure. When she chooses the case as the topic for her final year project, she starts to uncover secrets that someone in town desperately wants to stay hidden. And if the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?

Have you read any of these books? What did you think?

Happy Sunday, all.
Welcome to my Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @CaffeinatedReviewer. Per Kimberly, “It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.”

How was your week? Overall, mine was pretty decent but, towards the end of the week, some things went sour. 😕🥀 It’s okay, though. As my mom would say, too much sweet will give you cavities. I would say that the bookish highlight of my week was getting a Barnes and Noble gift card. It was more so the thought behind the gift card rather than the gift card itself, but I sure did have a fantastic time at B&N selecting books to buy. 😂

📚Book Haul
Rage and Ruin by Jennifer L Armentrout (Storm and Fury #2)
The Darkest Star by Jennifer L Armentrout (Origin #1)
The Burning Shadow by Jennifer L Armentrout (Origin #2)

So the books I bought at the bookstore are all JLA books, but my reasoning behind that was they never have her books in stock and I am planning on continuing her Storm and Fury series as well as planning to read the Origin series and since the opportunity to buy them presented itself, I took it!😊

🔖Currently Reading
Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card
*This is going quite slowly. When it comes to these genres/types of books, I tend to read them very, very slowly. 😂
The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle Jensen (buddy read with Leslie @BooksAreTheNewBlack and Dini @DiniPandaReads)
*Loving it so far!

Happy Sunday, all!
How is your weekend? Mine has been very busy, but in a great way. My weekend has been spent driving to AZ and celebrating my gramma with her two sisters. Today is my gramma’s birthday so there is still more celebrating to be had.😁

Today’s post is The Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @CaffeinatedReviewer. Per Kimberly, “It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.”

Books I Finished This Week:
The Prophecy by Jennifer L Armentrout
–5 stars⭐️
Guys. JLA is a literal QUEEN👑. I know she has gotten a lot of recognition with her Blood and Ash series, which is totally valid given how fantastic those books are, but her other books are just as fantastic. There is not one JLA book that I have not liked thus far. She has never let me down! Every time I read one of her books, I am left with a HUGE book hangover that only more JLA can fix. 😂 So far, I have read 30 of her books. I believe that she has written around 68 books (including novellas), but my count very well could be off! Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Currently Reading:
Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card

My goal for next week is to finish Ender’s Game. I will then be starting a buddy read of Bridge Kingdom by Danielle Jensen with the lovely Leslie @BooksAreTheNewBlack and Dini @DiniPandaReads. I am super excited for this buddy read.

Total Books Read in 2022: 13/50
February: 9
March: 4

*I am still quite behind on my goal of 50 before August😂 but it is totally fineeeee. Looking at it from a “50 books in a year” perspective, I am 3 books ahead!😁

Happy Sunday, all!🌞☕️
I am currently sitting on my couch, surrounded by fluffy pups and drinking my morning coffee. 😌 This morning I am going to church with my dad and step-mom and we are going to eat at one of my favorite places – Tutto Fresco! My favorite dish there is the lemon ricotta pancakes🍋🥞😋. (Also pancakes are my favorite food) Besides the delicious pancakes, I love the atmosphere and the decor. There are hanging plants, trees and flowers near the tables, with Italian pottery and tiles. It’s just beautiful. For the rest of the day, I plan on just reading (books + posts around the blogosphere), working on upcoming posts, relaxing with my family❤️.

✔️Recently Finished:

The Power (Titan series #2) by JLA
The Struggle (Titan series #3) by JLA

📚Total Books Read in 2022: 12
-3 in March (so far)
-9 in February

📋Goal: 50 books before August
-Status: BEHIND😫 This is goal is a bit of a stretch. (I don’t know if I will be able to read 10 books a month here on out with everything going on so I am behind!!) I will likely need to change the goal to 50 books for the year, but I will be doing my best to read 50 books by August!

Overall, I am pretty happy with my reading progress, especially considering that I just started reading in 2022 starting in February. I am trying to read as much as possible before starting medical school as I am not sure how much I will be able to read. I would be happier if I had read a little bit more in March. I know the month is not yet over, but the chances of me reading 6 more books in the next 12 days is pretty slim😂. We will see though! While it is good to have goals, I am not going to stress out about whether or not I will make my goal exactly. I am just glad I have the time to read.😊

🌞The Sunday Post: 5/9/2021

Hellooooo everyone! Good evening!😁
Happy Mother’s Day to you all wonderful, amazing and fantastic mom’s out there! You are truly amazing human beings and you all inspire me with your selflessness, strength and unconditional love.🥰

The Sunday post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @CaffeinatedReviewer. In this post, we review what happened with the blog over the week and share any news! The format for my post this week will be a bit different than previous weeks just because I really have not been able to read at all this week.

How are you all doing? How was your weekend? Mine was very busy! I recently started medical school applications, which involves the application itself and studying for some situational judgement exams. That, and working two jobs, is really keeping me busy, which is why I was unable to post on Friday and Saturday.

Since I have been super busy, I really have not done any reading, sadly. 😔 I picked up The Bridge Kingdom from Barnes and Noble the other day because I wanted more enemies to lovers (I may be a bit obsessed with that trope, okay?) but I haven’t gotten very far into it! It is pretty good from what I have read so far! I am hoping to get some good reading time in next week and catch up (I am 1 book behind per Goodreads😬).

🌞The Sunday Post + Monthly Wrap Up: March Edition

Good morning, everyone and happy Sunday!🥰
How is your weekend so far? Mine has been pretty good. I have just been working all weekend, which is fine by me. I like working and I don’t mind being busy. The weather here has been a mix of hot and rainy, which is not my favorite combination because… humidity is terrible. 😂 What is the weather like where you are at?

Today’s post is a combination of the Sunday post (hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Reviewer) and my monthly wrap up post for March. The first part will be the Sunday Post and the second part will be the March Wrap Up!

📚March Monthly Wrap Up

Overall, I would say that the month of March was pretty good. In terms of reading, I did not read as much as I would have liked. I went through a little bit of a reading slump and I started a second job so, with those two together, I just did not get that much reading done! I also got a promotion to be a Scribe Ambassador so that was pretty exciting. I am really excited to branch out and get further involved in medical scribing.

Books read in March📖: 4
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Daimon by Jennifer Armentrout
Half-Blood by Jennifer Armentrout
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden

Book Review(s):
A Court of Silver Flames (okay, okay, technically I posted it April 1 BUT I drafted it in March so I am counting it 😂)

TV Shows/Movies Watched📺:
H2O …
…H2O
H2O…

😂 Sooo my sister and I are still obsessed with H2O. We just like to have it on in the background as we hang out on the couch together (my sister usually falls asleep… at which point I either lie down myself or whip out my current read). It is like “our” TV show and it’s how we spend our time together when we are both too tired to do anything else.

Cooking👩🏽‍🍳
-So I have a Crock-Pot and I decided to try a Crock Pot lasagna recipe. It actually turned out really well! I will link the recipe here in case anyone is interested. Note, I did not use cottage cheese; instead, I used ricotta. I also used pasta sauce and tomato paste rather than plain tomato sauce!

-I also tried a new pan fried noodle recipe and guys. It is so good! I will link the recipe here. I also add water chestnuts to the recipe because I love water chestnuts!

What are some new things that you tried in the month of March? Let me know in the comments below!!

That is all I have for you all today! Be sure to link your Sunday Post and/or your monthly wrap up post so I don’t miss it! I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful Sunday.

🌞The Sunday Post: Easter!💗✝️

Image taken from here

Happy Easter, all! ✝️🐣
I hope you are having a good Easter! My sister and I are not working today so we got to sleep in and have a relaxing morning. Every Easter since we have been living on our own, I make blueberry muffins for my sister and me. This year, I still did some baking but I decided to make banana bread instead! My mom made banana bread for us when she last visited and it reminds me of her so I decided to make some. ❤️

Last night, my gramma was taken to the emergency room as she had labored breathing and could barely stay awake. Lately, she has been experiencing some bad side effects from the chemo but her newer symptoms were really concerning for an infection of some kind so my mom took her to the ER. In the hospital, she started coding and needed to be intubated, put on oxygen and she was given antibiotics for the infection. She is currently stable but what a crazy night. I hope she is able to recover and soon. Prayers for her would be greatly appreciated if you all wouldn’t mind❤️

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @CaffeinatedReviewer. In this post, we recap what happened with the blog this past week and report any news, bloggish or otherwise! For more information, see the meme info page here.

Currently Reading
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
The Stand by Stephen King

Since I started working a second job, I definitely have not had much time to read! But, I am finding time here and there and I am still hoping to make my goal for 100 books this year!

Recently Finished
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden

I absolutely loved The Bear and the Nightingale. It was a bit slow at the beginning, but the end really picked up and I was hooked! I loved how the author interwove Russian fairy tales into the story. I also thought it was pretty cool that I could recognize some of the fairy tales from reading previous books such as Hunted by Megan Spooner which also had a bit of Russian fairy tales mixed in (Prince Ivan and the Firebird). I love reading how the authors change and/or add to fairy tales!

Bookish News – ACOTAR TV series
I am not sure if you guys heard, but some time last week (I think 😂), Sarah J Maas announced that ACOTAR will be a TV series. I am really excited about this especially because the same guy who did Outlander will be working with SJM for ACOTAR. Outlander was very, very well done so I think that ACOTAR will be done well too. I am not putting out any expectations for the characters because I don’t want to be disappointed. Something I was disappointed in, though, was that members of the fandom were upset with this news. Before fully addressing that, we have to take a moment to understand this from SJM’s POV. I mean, can you imagine a book series that you wrote being adapted to a TV show? I mean, how exciting! Secondly, you can enjoy the series without it being exactly like the books were. It is important to keep in mind that books and film/TV are different mediums of storytelling and things will have to be changed to accommodate the change in form! As for me, I am really excited to just see the world come to life on the screen! And how lucky are we that it is a TV series as opposed to a movie! There is so much more you can do a TV series than a movie! Okay, I am done ranting now. 😂

What are your Easter day plans? What are you currently reading? Let me know in the comments below!
