📚Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’d Gladly Throw in the Ocean🌊

Good morning, everyone! Happy Tuesday. 💙
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. Each week, there is a new topic for which we write a list of 10 items. For more information and the list of topics, see the meme info page here.

Today’s topic is: Top Ten Books I’d Gladly Throw in the Ocean🌊. Per Jana, “You can want to throw a book into the ocean for a number of different reasons, both good and bad: you didn’t like it and DNFed it, you kept reading it hoping it would get better and it never did, you wish the ending had been different, it made you feel too many feels, there was a love triangle (or maybe said love triangle ended with the main character ending up with the person you didn’t them to end up with), it ended on a cliffhanger and you’re dying, there was a plot twist that messed with your mind, you thought you had figured out how things would end and the author outsmarted you, something made you mad, a character made a bad choice, etc.”
(Note: I wouldn’t actually throw any books into the ocean 😂 and, figuratively speaking, if I did throw a book into the ocean, I would swim back and grab it)

  1. The Stand
I sort of want to throw this in the ocean because I am finding it pretty boring. Maybe I am just not in the mood for this sort of book right now but I am finding King’s prose to just be really lengthy and just boring. Sooo yeah, I would love to chuck it out into the watery abyss 😂. I am going to keep reading it because my best friend gave me her copy to read and I don’t want to let her down.😬 I just might be here until next year reading this book 😂
  2. Forbidden by Syrie and Ryan James
Because they came out with the sequel 5 years after the first installment and the first book ended up a cliffhanger. Who knows when the next book will be out!
  3. Blood and Honey by Shelby Mahurin
I loved this book. A lot. And the ending literally killed me! Shelby did us dirty 😭
  4. From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout
Too. Many. Feels. (10/10 recommend this book)
  5. Every Day by David Leviathan
I just did not like this book that much… it didn’t really keep my interest so I DNFed it.
  6. The Forbidden Game by LJ Smith
The ending😢 (I also wanted Jenny to end up with someone else). but the ending made sense so I wasn’t mad. Just sad!
  7. Mystic City trilogy by Theo Lawrence
Similar to Forbidden, there has been no final book to the Mystic City trilogy and I find that soooo frustrating because I really liked the Mystic City books.
  8. Nerve by Jeanne Ryan
I just did not like this book. I can’t really remember why but I do remember just losing interest. I think I just found the book boring even though the premise of the book itself had caught my interest.
  9. The Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir
I have not even read this book but I would want to throw it into the ocean just because if I were to buy the book right now, it would not match the covers that I currently have, which are the originals. Book pet peeve triggered!
  10. Allegiant by Veronica Roth
Just because the ending ripped me to pieces. I actually couldn’t read the last few chapters because I was too busy crying and just couldn’t pick up the book to finish it after.

What are some books that you would throw into the ocean? Let me know in the comments below and be sure to link your TTT in the comments below so I don’t miss your TTT masterpiece!

📚Top Ten Tuesday: Places In Books I’d Love to Live

Happy TTT, everyone!!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. Each week, there is a new topic for which we write 10 things about. You can find more information, including the weekly topics, here. Today’s TTT topics is places in books I’d love to live.

Places In Books I’d Love to Live

Velaris – The City of Starlight – ACOTAR by SJM
I have always loved the night sky and the stars so I think it would be pretty amazing to live in the city of starlight.

Ketterdam – Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Yeah, it would be a pretty dangerous place but it would also be cool to live there. There are so many different cultures there! Plus. Kaz is there and he is my baby.)

Ellingham Academy – Truly, Devious by Maureen Johnson
While there are a lot of crimes that happen at the academy, it would be pretty cool to live in a grand place such as the academy. Plus, there are all sorts of cool passages and tunnels to explore, which would be fun (unless you can’t find a way out 😂 thennnn it is not so fun)

Italy – The Hourglass Door
I have always wanted to go to Italy! THD has part of the book set in 15th century (I think) Italy and, after reading the book, I thought that it would be pretty neat to be an apothecary store owner during that time! Medicine through the ages has always fascinated me.

The Beast’s Castle – Beauty and the Beast
For the library. 😂
(I honestly have no idea if the original book involves a library 😂)

That is really all I can think of off the top of my head! What are some places in books that you’d like to live? Let me know in the comments below. Be sure to link your TTT so I don’t miss it!

📚Top Ten Tuesday: Funny Book Titles😂

Good morning/almost afternoon, everyone!👋🏼 Happy TTT!!😌

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. Each week, there is a new topic for which we post 10 items in list format. This week’s topic is: Funny Book Titles. I did a combination of book titles that are funny (will make you laugh) and then book titles are funny in the sense of being strange, odd, weird or different as far as titles go (but in a good way, not in a bad way or anything!!).

Funny/Strange Book Titles

This one always makes me laugh! 🦕

I realize the title James and the Giant Peach may not make you laugh out loud, but I think it is a “funny” title in the sense of it being “odd.” Like, a giant peach? Weird (but cool)! When I was younger, I absolutely loved James and the Giant Peach. 🍑

The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t with Her Mind (The Frost Files, #1)

I have this one on my TBR. The title and the cover totally give off “Stranger Things” vibes. The book sounds really interesting!🧠

Soooo that is really all I could come up with today 😂 This was a hard topic and I struggled a little bit, but as always, I had fun with the post. 🥰

What are some other books with funny titles? Let me know in the comments below. Be sure to include your TTT link so I don’t miss your TTT masterpiece! 🥰

📚Top Ten Tuesday: Spring Cleaning Freebie🍃🧹

Happy Tuesday, everyone!🥰
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. Each week, there is a new topic for which we list 10 items. Today’s topic is a Spring Cleaning Freebie. I am going to go ahead and take Jana’s suggestion for the freebie and choose the topic: books you’d like to clean off your TBR by either reading them or deciding you’re not interested.

There are sooo many that I need to read to clean off my TBR 😂 so I don’t think I will have any issue with reaching 10 selections this time!

Clean off the TBR by Reading:
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
Frostbite by Elly Blake
Crave by Tracy Wolf
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Roseblood by AG Howard
Assassin’s Heart by Sarah Ahiers
A Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray

Clean off the TBR because I am not interested anymore:
The Infinite Sea (5th wave book 2) by Rick Yancey
Heartless Marissa Meyer
Hereafter by Kate Brian (Shadowlands 2)

What books are you cleaning off your TBR by either reading them or deciding that you are no longer interested? What was your TTT topic? Be sure to link your TTT in the comments so I don’t miss it! ❤️ Let me know in the comments below!

📚Top Ten Tuesday: Characters Whose Job I Wish I Had🤔

Happy TTT everyone!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. Each week there is a new topic for which we post 10 items! You can find the list of topics and more information about the meme: here. Today’s topic is Characters Whose Job I Wish I Had! They way I organized is the book title, the character, and corresponding job I’d like to have.

Servant of the Crown by Melissa McShane: the Royal Librarian (Alison, the MC is the assistant to the Royal Librarian but go big or go home right 😂)

Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Ivy Morgan – Fae hunter/member of the Order

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco: Audrey Rose – cadaveric dissection and solving crimes (I have dissected cadavers during my time of study at university and it was such an honor to learn from the human body first hand. It is an experience I will never forget nor take for granted.)

A Court of Wings and Ruin by SJM: work in the House Library with the priestesses! or be Rhysand’s and the Night Court’s High Lady.😏

Haven by Kristi Cook: Violet McKenna – student at Winterhaven, a school for the paranormal (I’ve always thought that I would be an empath if I were at the school)
***If you read Vampire Academy and liked it, I think you would definitely like Haven! I have re-read Haven several times because I loved it so much. Haven has a pretty neat take on vampires and other paranormal stuff, which is why I liked it so much. And also Violet’s love interest, Aiden. 😂

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: Rose Hathaway – Dhampir … because who wouldn’t want to be a badass evil vampire slayer and good vampire protector? 😂

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo: I would just want to be one of the Crows so I could be close to Kaz … I love Kaz😍

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller: Alosa – It would be so much fun to go on adventures at sea! And be a badass with a sword.

What are characters’ jobs that you wish you had?! Let me know in the comments below! Be sure to link your TTT post in the comments as well so I don’t miss it. 😊

📚Top Ten Tuesday: Mardi Gras

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
It is looking pretty snowy here today! Despite the snow, I still managed to get to the store and secure my copy of A Court of Silver Flames, which was released today! It was a bit of an adventure not only because the roads were quite snowy (the roads were not terrible but they certainly weren’t the best) but also because Barnes and Noble wasn’t supposed to open until 12pm due to the inclement weather. I got there at 9:30am (I know, it was a bit early but I was excited okay 😂) as they usually open at 10am. Luckily I checked the store hours posted on their door or else I would have been sitting there (in the car) for nothing (because I have work). I promptly made my way over to Target and secured my copy there, thankfully! And thankfully today is another late start day for work. Anyway, I am soooo excited to read ACOSF! 🥰😍😁 If you are reading it, were you able to get your copy?!

Today’s post is Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together” -Jana. Each week, there is a new topic and this week’s topic is in the spirit of Mardi Gras: Purple, Yellow, and/or Green Book Covers!

The Hand on The Wall by Maureen Johnson CR: HarperCollins Children’s Publishing
The Unhoneymooners
Meet Cute
Tales From the Hinterland (The Hazel Wood, #2.5)
The Bone Witch (The Bone Witch, #1)
Awaken (Abandon, #3)

Do you celebrate Mardi Gras? I have never celebrated before but I think it would be fun to partake in the festivities one year. What are your favorite books with purple, yellow or green covers? Have you read any of the ones I’ve listed above? Let me know in the comments below!
