📚Top Ten Tuesday: 21st Century Books I Think Will Become Classics

Happy TTT, everyone!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. Each week, there is a new topic for which we list ten items. This week’s topic is: 21st Century Books I Think Will Become Classics. This topic was submitted by Lisa of Hopewell. This is a pretty cool topic, but I definitely struggled with it! 😬 To help, I did a little research on what constitutes a classic work. According to an article in ThoughtCo, there are several qualities that make up a classic literary piece, including artistic quality, withstanding the test of time, universal appeal, connections, and relevance for multiple generations. Classic literature is an expression of life, truth, and beauty. It must be of high artistic quality, at least for the time in which it was written” (Esther Lombardi, ThoughtCo). I tried to include books that hit on one or more of the qualities listed above and the attributes that the article discussed.

  1. Divergent by Veronica Roth
  2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  3. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  4. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
  5. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
  6. The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris
I know that this might seem a little bit… unconventional. However, many people know about this book/movie so it definitely hits on a couple of classic qualities.
  7. Life of Pi Yann Martel
  8. The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
  9. Circe by Madeline Miller
  10. The Boy in Striped Pajamas by John Boyne

What do you think of my list? What is on your TTT? Be sure to include the link to your post in the comments.
